In short: be kind, be legal, don't spam. Your chats are yours and encrypted. If you break these rules we may suspend or ban your account. VanshLink is free and offered as it is.
1. Agreeing to these terms
VanshLink is run by Vansh Kashyap, New Delhi, India (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, joining or starting a room, or otherwise using VanshLink, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use VanshLink.
2. Who can use VanshLink
- You must be 18 or older, or between 13 and 18 with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who then accepts these Terms for you.
- You must not use VanshLink if we have banned you before, or if the law doesn't allow you to.
3. Your account
- Give true information and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- An account works on one phone, one tablet and one computer at a time.
- Pick a username that isn't offensive and doesn't pretend to be someone else or a brand.
- Your chat history is stored on your devices. Keep your password safe: it unlocks your chats on a new device, and we can't recover encrypted messages for you.
4. Rules everyone follows
Don't use VanshLink to:
- abuse, threaten, bully, harass or stalk anyone, or use hateful language about religion, caste, gender, race or other identity;
- send spam, chain messages, bulk invites or unwanted promotions;
- scam, cheat or phish people, or ask for money, OTPs or passwords under false pretences;
- share sexual content involving anyone under 18 (we report it to the authorities), or anyone's intimate images without their consent;
- share content that is illegal in India, promotes violence or terrorism, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- pretend to be another person or organisation;
- spread malware, or try to hack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer VanshLink or get around its limits and security;
- create accounts or rooms with bots or automated tools.
5. Your content
- What you send stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store and deliver it (encrypted) and to show it to the people you send it to.
- You're responsible for what you send and share. Only share what you have the right to share.
- We can't see end-to-end encrypted messages, so we act on reports: when someone reports you, they may share recent messages from their chat with you so our team can review them.
6. Rooms
- Anyone with a room's code (and password, if it has one) can join it. Share codes only with people you want in the room.
- Rooms end on their own: after their time runs out, or for live rooms when everyone leaves or nobody is active for a while. Everything in the room is then deleted and can't be recovered.
- The person who starts a room can pin messages, mute or remove people, lock the room or end it.
7. When rules are broken
- We may remove content we can see (like profile photos or names), limit features, or suspend or ban accounts that break these Terms or the law. A person on our team makes that decision; our systems may slow down obvious spam but never suspend anyone on their own.
- A suspended account sees the reason when it opens VanshLink. If you think we got it wrong, write to the Grievance Officer below.
- We may share information with police or courts when Indian law requires it.
8. The service
- VanshLink is free. We may add, change or remove features, and we'll try to give notice of big changes.
- We work hard to keep it running and secure, but it's provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available, error-free, or that messages will always arrive.
- Notifications and calls depend on your phone, browser and network. On some phones notifications need VanshLink added to the home screen.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unexpected losses, lost data or lost profits, or for what other users say or do. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that can't be limited. You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim against us arises because you broke these Terms or the law.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using VanshLink and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may end or suspend access as described in section 7.
11. Changes and law
We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we'll tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using VanshLink after a change, you accept the new Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at New Delhi have jurisdiction.
12. Grievance Officer and contact
Under the Information Technology Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, complaints about content, accounts or your data go to our Grievance Officer:
