What is VanshLink?
VanshLink is a free chat app made in India. You can chat privately with friends and groups by username — no phone number — and start temporary chat rooms that anyone can join with a code and that delete themselves.
Is VanshLink free?
Yes, VanshLink is free to use. There are no ads inside your chats.
Do I need a phone number to use VanshLink?
No. You sign up with an email address and choose a @username. Friends find you by your username, your permanent user ID, or your QR code.
Is VanshLink safe and private?
Messages, photos, voice notes, files, locations and calls are end-to-end encrypted: they're locked on your device and only the people in the chat can open them. Our server only passes the encrypted copy along and deletes it within about a day; your history is stored on your own devices.
How do I create a chat room?
Open VanshLink, tap Rooms, give the room a name, choose how long it lasts and tap Start a room. Share the code, the link, the QR code or the Instagram story poster with your friends.
Can people join a room without an account?
Yes. Anyone with the code can join a live or 1-hour room by typing a name. Rooms that last 1 day or 7 days need the host to have a free account.
How long do messages and rooms last?
In your chats, messages stay on your devices until you delete them (or until a disappearing-message timer you set). Rooms last until they end — live, 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days — and then everything in them is deleted.
Can I use VanshLink on my computer?
Yes. VanshLink works in any modern browser on Windows, Mac and Linux. One account can be open on one phone, one tablet and one computer at the same time.
How do I install VanshLink on my phone?
On Android, open VanshLink in Chrome and tap Add to Home screen or Install app. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens full-screen and can send notifications.
Can I schedule a message?
Yes. Type your message, then press and hold the Send button (or right-click it on a computer) and pick a date and time. It's sent automatically, even if VanshLink is closed.
What if someone harasses or abuses me?
Block them from their profile, or long-press a message and tap Report. You can choose to share the recent part of the chat with our team, who review every report and can suspend or ban the account.
How do I delete a chat or my account?
Long-press any message for Delete for me, or long-press a chat in your list to clear or delete it. Settings has Clear all chats and Delete my account.
Does VanshLink work in Hindi?
You can chat in Hindi, Hinglish or any language and use any keyboard. The app's buttons are in English for now.
Is VanshLink made in India?
Yes. VanshLink is built and run in New Delhi, India.
